Week of August 25-29

Due to the new math curriculum and trying to get everything figured out, I did not give out homework to all of the classes like I had planned. My blog is the plan for the week. Plans sometimes change.

I did send homework and the Topic 1 Summary home today (Friday, August 22, 2025). Students highlighted the questions I want them to work to help prepare them for the test we will have on Wednesday, August 27. The Topic Summary will have definitions and examples if the students need help with the homework. Also, I am available for help every morning from 7:30-7:50.

 

Regular 6th Grade Math (1st-4th periods)

Monday-Finish M1T1L5 (Multiplying Fractions) and Begin M1T1L6 (Dividing Fractions)

Tuesday-Finish M1T1L6 (Dividing Fractions). Work on homework packet if time allows.

Wednesday-Module 1 Topic 1 Test. Must have chrome books charged and at school!

Homework packet is due!

Thursday-Module 1 Topic 2 Lesson 1 (Constructing Triangles Given Sides) Lesson 2 (Triangle Sum Therom)

On Friday, I passed out a quiz to complete as a take home quiz. The quiz is due by Tuesday! No exceptions! (Unless you were absent on Friday) If you need help with anything, you must come see me Monday morning. Don’t wait until Tuesday.

This week for our STAAR practice questions, we will be focusing on integer and rational number computations. TEKS 6.3ABCDE

Monday-6.8D-Volume of rectangular prisms. Will pass out unit review. Needs to be completed by Wednesday.

Tuesday-6.11A-Graphing on the coordinate plane.

Wednesday-6.8ABCD, 6.11A-Unit Review. We will go over the review and answer any questions before the test tomorrow.

Thursday-6.8ABCD, 6.11A-Unit Test

Friday and Monday we our out of school for Easter. Enjoy your long weekend!

Welcome back from a week off! Hope each of you has a great break! We are quickly wrapping up this school year. The math STAAR test will be on April 30. That gives us about 5 weeks to finish learning and then reviewing before then. I need each one of you to give me 100% attention and focus so we can finish strong.

This week we will begin with a warm up, using STAAR type questions. This week during the warmup, we will focus on comparing and ordering rational numbers. (TEKS 6.2ABCDE)

Monday-6.8A, 6.10A-Beginning unit on Geometry. We will learn about angle relationships and triangles. Angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees.

Tuesday-6.8A, 6.10A-We will learn about the side lengths of triangles. The sum of two sides must be greater than the third size.

Wednesday-6.8BCD, 6.10A-Area of rectangles and parallelograms. A=bh (A=lw)

Thursday-6.8BCD, 6.10A-Area of triangles and trapezoids. A=1/2 bh (triangle) A=1/2(b1+b2)h (trapezoid)

Friday-6.8ABCD, 6.10A-Quiz on Angles and Area
