Regular Math (Periods 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)

Wednesday-First day of school. We will talk about expectations and what to expect in 6th grade math. Students will bring home a 6th Grade Math Grading Policy/Expectations. There is a page to fill out and send back. Begin get to know you activity called my Life in Numbers

Thursday-Continue to work on My Life in Numbers.

Friday-6.1A, C, D; 6.7D; 6.8D-Module 1 Topic 1 Lesson 1-Writing Equivalent Expressions Using the Distributive Property

 

Advanced Math (Periods 6th, 7th, 8th)

Monday-6.7ABCD-We will review Unit 6 which includes: expressions, exponents, prime factorization, order of operations, properties of operations, combining like terms, the distributive property, and writing expressions.

Tuesday-6.7ABCD-Test over Unit 6.

Wednesday-Early Release. We will use this day as a catch up or corrections day.

Thursday-6.10A-Begin Unit 7. Notes and practice over one step equations with addition and subtraction.

Friday-6.10A-Notes and practice over one step equations with addition and subtraction.

January 22-26, 2024

Monday-6.7ABCD-Finish Quiz. Work on IXL Diagnostics. DUE by Friday. Work on during enrichment or study hall or at home.

Tuesday-6.7ABCD-Properties of operations. Notes to learn about the different properties for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

Wednesday-6.7ABCD-Combining like Terms. Notes and practice on learning how to combine like terms.

Thursday-6.7ABCD-Learn about the distributive properties with notes.

Friday-6.7ABCD-Writing equations. Notes on writing equations. Homework, start working on the review for Unit 6. Test will be on Tuesday.

Hope you all are staying warm and enjoying an extra day off. I waited to write my blog post since I knew it would change if we had to miss today (Tuesday).

Wednesday/Thursday-6.7ABCD-Scavenger hunt with order of operations and prime factorization practice.

Friday-6.7ABCD-Quiz over the first 5 lessons in Unit 6. Includes: expressions, equations, exponents, prime factorization, and order of operations.

Welcome back to schoool! I’m excited to see each of you tomorrow! We will begin Unit 6 which is all about expressions.

Tuesday-6.7ABCD- Introduction to Expressions-We will take notes and practice learning about expressions.

Wednesday-6.7ABCD-Exponents- We will learn about exponents through taking notes and practicing. Possibility of homework.

Thursday-6.7ABCD-Prime Factorization- We will learn about prime factorization with notes and practice.

Friday-6.7ABCD-Order of Operations- We will learn about and practice order of operations.

Monday, January 15 is a holiday. We’ll continue with order of operations on Tuesday and have a quiz over the first 5 lessons of Unit 6 on Wednesday.
