6th Grade Regular Math

Monday-Begin Module 1 Topic 1 Lesson 2-Identifying Common Factors and Common Multiples

Tuesday- Finish Lesson 2 and work on Assignments from Lesson 1 and Lesson Two. Finish assignments for homework. Homework will be due on Friday.

Wednesday-Lesson 3-Dividing a Whole into Fractional parts

Thursday-Lesson 4-Benchmark Fractions

Friday-Lesson 5-Multiplying Fractions (I will send home a Topic 1 Summary that can be used to review what we have learned so far in preparation of Topic Test on Wednesday.

Monday-Finish Lesson 5. Begin Lesson 6-Fraction by fraction Division

Tuesday-Finish Lesson 6 and work on assignments from Lessons 5 and 6. Finish assignments for homework. Homework will be due on Friday.

6th Grade Advanced Math

I can not believe it is time to review for the STAAR test! This school year has FLOWN by! For the next two weeks, we will try to cover a little bit of everything we have learned this year in math. If at all possible, please try not to be absent while we are going through the review. If you must be absent, come see me before school the next morning.

Monday-6.5B-We will work problems, learning how to set up proportions with percents. We are either looking for the part, whole, or percent.

All of our problems we are setting up follow this percentage proportion.

Tuesday-6.5B-We will continue working problem with percentage proportions. (Some student will be gone for UIL. If you are missing Tuesday, you need to come before school to work with me)

Wednesday-6.5B-Scavenger hunt involving percents with proportions. I will be going with the group to Sabine for UIL competition. (Some student will be gone for UIL. If you are missing Tuesday, you need to come before school to work with me)

Thursday-6.5B-We will work some more problems with percents and proportions, making sure everyone is understanding how to work and set up the proportions. We will hopefully have time to finish up any work not completed from Tuesday and Wednesday.

Friday-6.4EFG, 6.5BC- We will begin working on the Unit 5 review. Test will be on Tuesday.

I hope you had a relaxing and wonderful Thanksgiving Break! I know I have so very much to be thankful for including having each of the students I teach at White Oak! We have just three and a half weeks until Christmas break. This means we are three and a half weeks to being half way through with this school year! I can not believe it!

Monday-6.4EG-We are starting Unit 5 which is all about percents. We will learn what percents are, how to change them to fractions and decimals. We will take notes and have homework (if not finished in class)

Tuesday-6.4FG-We will learn about representing benchmark fractions and percents. We will take notes.

Wednesday-6.4G- We will take notes and have homework (if not finished in class) to learn about converting fractions, decimals, and percents.

Thursday-6.4EFG-Quiz on Equivalent Forms of numbers.

Friday-6.5B-We will take notes to learn about solving percents with proportions. Mini-Quiz

Tuesday-6.4BD-Rates as comparisons. We will take notes to learn about rates as comparisons.

Wednesday-6.4H-Measurement conversions- We will take notes and have a practice page for learning about measurement conversions.

Thursday-6.4BCDH 6.5C-Review of Ratios and Rates. Complete for homework.

Friday-6.4BCDH 6.5C-Test over Ratios and Rates.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! We will start Unit 5 when we get back from break.

Somehow, we are two weeks away from Thanksgiving break! Friday we started our study of Unit 4: Ratios and Rate, with an introduction of ratios.

Monday-6.4BC-We will look at ratios as comparisons. We will take notes to learn how to use ratios as comparisons. We will have a practice page which will be homework if not completed in class. This is due by Tuesday.

Tuesday-6.4BC-We will look at ratios in tables and graphs. We will take note to learn.

Wednesday-6.4BC-We will apply our knowledge of ratios in real world situations. We will do some problems together and then there will be independent practice which will be homework (Due on Thursday) if not completed in class.

Thursday-6.4BC-We will take a quiz on ratios.

Friday-6.4BC-We will begin learning about rates. We will take notes to learn what it means to find the rate.
