Monday-September 15 students are out of school. We will practice Topic 3 on Tuesday and take the Topic 3 test on Wednesday.

Homework will be given as I see a need as we go through the lessons.

Due to the new math curriculum and trying to get everything figured out, I did not give out homework to all of the classes like I had planned. My blog is the plan for the week. Plans sometimes change.

I did send homework and the Topic 1 Summary home today (Friday, August 22, 2025). Students highlighted the questions I want them to work to help prepare them for the test we will have on Wednesday, August 27. The Topic Summary will have definitions and examples if the students need help with the homework. Also, I am available for help every morning from 7:30-7:50.

 

Regular 6th Grade Math (1st-4th periods)

Monday-Finish M1T1L5 (Multiplying Fractions) and Begin M1T1L6 (Dividing Fractions)

Tuesday-Finish M1T1L6 (Dividing Fractions). Work on homework packet if time allows.

Wednesday-Module 1 Topic 1 Test. Must have chrome books charged and at school!

Homework packet is due!

Thursday-Module 1 Topic 2 Lesson 1 (Constructing Triangles Given Sides) Lesson 2 (Triangle Sum Therom)

Friday-Skills Practice with Triangles

Thursday-Lesson 4-Benchmark Fractions

Friday-Lesson 5-Multiplying Fractions (I will send home a Topic 1 Summary that can be used to review what we have learned so far in preparation of Topic Test on Wednesday.

Advanced Math Classes

Monday-We will continue learning the algorithm for multiplying and dividing integers (positive and negative whole numbers). Scavenger hunt reviewing all operations with integers.

Tuesday-Work on the unit study guide review in class. I’ll post the answers to the study guide on google classroom so you can check your answers. I’ll be out in the afternoon so there will be a sub.

Friday-We will take a Quiz on decimal operations. (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing)

Tuesday-We will finish the Decimal Operations Performance Task on google Classroom.

Wednesday-we will add and subtract fractions. This is a review from 5th grade and a 7th grade TEKS.

Happy Homecoming Week! We have dress up days all week! And although we have some fun days, we still have regular classes this week.

If you would like to correct your Unit 1 test, you will need to come to my room in the mornings at 7:30 to work on corrections.

I can not believe it is time to review for the STAAR test! This school year has FLOWN by! For the next two weeks, we will try to cover a little bit of everything we have learned this year in math. If at all possible, please try not to be absent while we are going through the review. If you must be absent, come see me before school the next morning.

Each day we are working through an activity. You have an opportunity to earn 10 points a day towards a test grade.
